During the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, the famous official Wei Zheng was renowned for his outspoken and courageous advice. One day, Emperor Taizong proudly showed his court officials a newly acquired treasure. All the officials showered him with lavish praise. Only Wei Zheng dared to speak frankly, pointing out that the treasure was not precious but detrimental to the royal reputation. Emperor Taizong was initially displeased, but after careful consideration, he realized the validity of Wei Zheng's words. Instead of anger, Emperor Taizong was overjoyed and commended Wei Zheng's loyalty and integrity. He publicly announced his acceptance of Wei Zheng's advice and had his words recorded in the annals of history as a lesson for future generations. From that day on, Emperor Taizong valued Wei Zheng's advice even more, and the country prospered as a result.
