Origin Story
In the Tang Dynasty, there was a poet named Li Bai. From a young age, he was exceptionally talented and his poems amazed the world, making him famous. He often thought highly of himself, believing that no one could match his talent and disdaining those with ordinary abilities. Once, he went to Chang'an to take the imperial examination. Seeing many candidates diligently studying and preparing, he sneered and thought, “These people are no match for me. Why should I bother preparing?” As a result, he was complacent, failed, and returned home. Li Bai was very unhappy about this, but he still considered himself superior. Only in his old age did he gradually realize his mistakes and begin to be humble and diligent.
